Isaiah 43:19
I welcome you into the new year 2022 to the glory of the Almighty. I am especially delighted to see you in this new year, hallelujah!
Firstly, it is extremely important to thank God for the miracle of survival in the year 2021 with all its attendant challenges and problems, because if not for God Who is on our side, according to Psalm 124:1-8, probably a lot would not have made it to the new year. Therefore, it is important at this point to count our blessings, no matter how small you might think it is, and return all glory to God (Psalm 21:1-6).
I. Count Your Blessings of the Gift of Life: Psalm 16:11 confirms that it is God Who shows the path of life, in other words, life comes from God and only He decides who receives the breath of life. We should, therefore, not take it for
granted and think that anyone has the absolute right to life, but instead see it as a gift from God and understand that every moment you live here on earth should be used to glorify God. As you are alive to see the new year take every
moment to glorify God.
II. Count Your blessings of the Miracles of Sleeping and Waking up: This is a special gift from God, the Psalmist in Psalm 59:16 enjoined us to sing aloud of the mercies of God in the morning as we wake up each day; you acknowledge
the fact that so many people had gone to bed in the night and never woke up in the morning. Remember that in the year 2021 alone you slept and woke up for 365 days whilst Jesus Christ watched over you throughout each night, you
can now imagine the number of evil that God would have averted.
III. Glorify God for Divine Provisions: Most times when we thought it was over, God would spring surprises of open doors again. According to Isaiah 55:10, it is the Lord who gives bread to the eater and seed to the sower, it is, therefore,
important to remember that you are not sustained only by the ability to work and earn a living but by the grace of God through which we have been receiving help. None of us died of hunger in 2021, and all other material achievements have largely been made possible by the help of God; so whatever your achievements are in terms of material wealth, return all the glory to God. Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, …”
Secondly, be rest assured that this year shall be an exceptional year for you and all yours in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has made it clear to us that He will do new things in our lives this year, thus making the year ‘a year of NEW THINGS’. As you look up to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, He will take you to a new level of glory this year in Jesus’ Name.
Happy New Year!
