What a great opportunity it is to go inward, spending time with ourselves and the Holy Spirit. It is a known fact that spiritual practices such as meditation, worship and prayers boost our immune systems. The Bible tells us in Joshua 1:8 to always meditate on the Word because the Word is truth and life. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…”

This is the best time to build a stronger prayer channel. The Bible tells us in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:16 to pray always, without ceasing. Prayer is a means of connecting to the Father. Prayer does not only mean making our requests known to God, but it also means intimate worship. Prayer is worship! Listening to uplifting songs and sermons would also help to keep our minds firm in the faith and our spiritual man will be charged. Let’s exercise our spiritual muscles, practice gratitude, forgiveness and surrender. For many of us, this might be a stretch. A Good Stretch. A great STRETCH!

Yes, physically, we may be on lockdown but spiritually we are not, not our hearts nor spirits. So many of those in prison make use of their prison time to get closer to God, because they eventually realize His unending love, that He’s the best thing to ever happen to any man. So, if they can, we too can. It is fine to start small.

Most times, it is not by what happens but the choices we make on how to hold it and mould it into something great. Time is very precious. Time flies. Time waits for no man! Let us use this period to remake our lives; fixing all that needs to be fixed.

We can develop our physical/mental health in the following ways:

  • Enrolling in online classes
  • Daily exercise
  • Listening to Godly music
  • Reading books
  • Engaging in family activities to enhance and facilitate a strong healthy bond.
  • Healthy feeding and adequate rest.
